Overview
Preto.ai ("we", "us", "our") operates the Preto.ai proxy service and website at preto.ai. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Data We Collect
When you use Preto.ai, we collect:
- Request metadata — model name, token counts, latency, cost, and any metadata headers you send (e.g. feature name, user ID). We do not store the content of your prompts or responses by default.
- Account data — email address, workspace name, and billing information (processed by Stripe).
- Usage analytics — page views and feature interactions via PostHog, used to improve the product.
How We Use Your Data
- To generate cost breakdowns, savings recommendations, and savings dashboards for your workspace.
- To enforce budget limits you configure.
- To send transactional emails (cost alerts, billing receipts).
- To improve Preto.ai's recommendation quality using aggregated, anonymized patterns.
Data Retention
Request metadata is retained according to your plan (7 days on Free, 90 days on Pro, 1 year on Business and Scale). You can delete your workspace and all associated data at any time from your account settings.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share data only with:
- Stripe — for payment processing.
- PostHog — for product analytics (anonymized).
- ClickHouse Cloud — as our data store for request logs (your data is not shared with other ClickHouse customers).
Security
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest. We use short-lived credentials and least-privilege access controls. Preto never modifies your API requests — it only reads metadata for logging.
Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time by emailing gaurav@preto.ai. We will respond within 30 days.
